Precision Learning. Brighter Future.

A Circle of Care, guided by precision learning.

Caring for someone with dementia is never one person's job. CAL for Dementia builds a Circle of Care — family, professionals, medical, legal — each in their role. We help everyone involved learn what they need at that point in time. That's why we call it Precision Learning.

1

Build the Circle of Care

Connect everyone caring for your loved one — family, professionals, medical, legal — each with their role, centered on the person you love.

2

We move with you

As your needs change, so does your Circle of Care. Our software captures that dynamic instead of freezing a moment in time.

3

Precision learning for each

Everyone gets guidance aligned to their role, the stage, and the moment — the right knowledge, for the right person, at the right time. Never generic.

We're with you at every stage — from the first worry to the final chapter.

Why we're here

It's 2 a.m. The person you love is frightened — and you don't know what to do.

Every family caring for someone with dementia lives some version of that moment. CAL exists to meet you in it — not with a textbook, but with the one thing that actually helps: knowing what to do, right now.

Where it comes from

A decade of listening to families.

CAL didn't start in a lab. It started in rooms full of exhausted, loving families. Its founder co-authored the peer-reviewed research behind Care to Plan — a University of Minnesota program published in The Gerontologist (2015) — and has spent years on the board of a regional dementia network — hearing, again and again, the same daily struggles. CAL is the answer he wished he could have handed them.

Free to read

A 500-page guide to understanding dementia.

Understanding Dementia is a free, evidence-based guidebook — fifteen chapters on the disease, the treatments and the day-to-day of care. It is a separate work, not part of CAL, and it costs nothing to read. We think it is worth your time.

Questions families ask

The essentials, in plain language.

What is CAL for Dementia?›
CAL for Dementia helps everyone caring for someone with dementia work as one connected team — a Circle of Care. It brings family, friends, and professionals together, keeps a shared picture of your loved one's needs, and gives each person guidance made for their role and the moment.
Is CAL for Dementia AI?›
Yes. There are millions of pieces of dementia-related information scattered across the web — far more than any caregiver could ever sort through. CAL uses AI to organize all of that knowledge and bring it together with what we know about your own loved one, so the guidance you receive fits your situation instead of being generic. The AI works in service of the person at the center — it never replaces your doctor or your own judgment.
Who is CAL for?›
It's built for the people who carry the day-to-day — adult children, spouses, and family caregivers — along with the wider circle of friends and professionals who help. The person living with dementia stays at the center of everything.
Do we need a diagnosis, or a certain stage, to start?›
No. Families come to CAL at every point — from the first worries, through diagnosis, to the later stages. The guidance adapts to where your loved one is right now.
How much does it cost?›
Your first month is free. After that, one subscription covers the whole Circle of Care — and anyone in the circle can be the one to pay.
Is my information private — and will you use it to market to me?›
Your privacy is protected on both counts. Care details are visible only to the members of your loved one's circle, based on each person's role, and your information stays inside the application — it never leaves your Circle of Care. We never sell it, advertise to you, or hand it to data brokers, so you won't suddenly start seeing dementia-related ads in your Facebook feed the way you do after searching on social media. See our Privacy Policy for details.
Is CAL a substitute for medical advice?›
No. CAL is an educational companion that helps you understand options and have better conversations with your care team. It doesn't diagnose or prescribe — always confirm medical decisions with a qualified professional.

What's new in dementia research

Findings that actually matter, in plain language — read and checked by a person before we send them.

We write rarely. Some months nothing meaningful changes, and you'll hear nothing from us — that's deliberate. Unsubscribe any time.

For organisations

Home-care agencies, senior centres, health plans and aging-services providers — tell us what you're looking at and we'll reply personally.

A person reads every one of these. No mailing list, no sequence.
